PPAP!!

PEN-PINEAPPLE-APPLE-PEN!!

How did PPAP came to be?

Daimaou Kosaka, a comedian and recording artist who portrayed the character in PPAP named Pikotaro, was sitting at home one day, with a pen in hand, coming up with lyrics for a song. While brainstorming he thought about his background such as how he lives in a region that's known for producing apples, the Aomori Prefecture. Nearby him, he had a can of pineapples...pen....apple...pineapple...!!!

It took around $1,000 to make the music video for PPAP. The video was launched on YouTube August 25th, 2016 and became viral because of it's silly lyrics, catchy beat, and funky and crazy randomness.

PPAP has been claimed as the new Gangnam Style and has been on Japan Hot 100 charts at number one.

I wonder what else will await the internet from Pikotaro! Feel free to leave a comment down below on your opinions on PPAP!

TAMAGOTCHI

Hello everyone! Welcome to Liv N' Luv Japan! I know it has been 4 months since that last time I posted an article for you guys. Like I said before, I am busy with school. But, I currently don't have my laptop to be able to work on it like I used too. Sad face!

So, what is a tamagotchi?!

                                                                   (1996 tamagotchi)

A tamagotchi is a virtual pet! You take care of these little creatures from an far far far away planet who needs to be fed, played with, nurtured, etc!! Tamagotchi does have a meaning! The "tamago" part of tamagotchi means "egg" in Japanese. And the "tch" part comes from part of the English word "watch".

Tamagotchi was in stores in 1996. It was a very popular 90s toy and it was popular among boys and girls and everyone of all ages. Tamagotchis are not as popular as they were before but new versions of tamagotchis are still being made. They are made and sold by Bandai.

Now, time for my opinion! I absolutely LOVE tamagotchis!! I used to have a couple of tamagotchis before when I was younger but I also lose them after a while and I don't know why! I currently do have a tamagotchi which is the newest version which is called "Tamagotchi Friends"!

                                                              (Tamagotchi Friends)

It brings back memories having a tamagotchi!! One thing that I am very jealous of is the fact that in Japan they actually have colored LED screen tamagotchis!! And that was always a thought I had years ago, "What if someday there might be a colorful tamagotchi?". I do like the black and grey screen because it's like the originals but, I would love to have a more modern looking tamagotchi. Here is one that really got my attention and it's called "Tamagotchi 4U".

                                                                  (Tamagotchi 4U)

My favorite tamagotchi character would have to be Kuromametchi because he is just cute and adorable and I just love his style!! (^_^)

Well, that's about it I can say about tamagotchis!! I don't to make this article long and borning and me just ranting and geek-ing out about tamagotchis, but I will be posting another article soon hopefully!!

How many tamagotchis have you have had before?!
If you never had a tamagotchi, would you want one?!
Who is your favorite tamagotchi character?!

BYE! MATA NE!! (^_^)

Celebrities: Kawase Tomoko (川瀬 智子)

Hello everyone! Welcome to Liv N' Luv Japan! Like I told you guys before on my article on the article about "Tommy heavenly6", I was going to do a celebrity category on Tomoko Kawase!! ^_^

Name: Kawase Tomoko (married name: Okuda Tomoko)
                                    Stage Name(s): Tommy february6, Tommy heavenly6
                                                            Nickname: Tommy
                                                    Birthday: February 6th, 1975
                                                              Blood Type: B
                                                              Height: 161cm
                                                    Hometown: Kyoto, Japan

Now, time for some detailed information about Kawase Tomoko! Kawase Tomoko was originally the lead vocalist and lyricist of an alternative rock band called "The Brilliant Green". She was asked to join the band in 1995 after her now husband, Okuda Shunsaku, and Matsui Ryo heard her sing when she took part in a karaoke contest. And as the band's lyricist, she wrote songs and sung them in both Japanese and English. And in her videos, she speaks really great and clear English and she isn't even a native English speaker. Since the indefinite hiatus of "The Brilliant Green" she started doing more soloist music on her own so she came up with "Tommy february6" and "Tommy heavenly6".

And other than music, she is involved in other things as well. She writes songs for other singers. And she also once lent her voice to an anime called Piroppo as a character named Pikki. She also modeled for an Italian fashion house, Fiorucci, and for some time she hosted "Break Down", a show on MTV Japan.

She is also known for having an obsession with "Elmo", the red Sesame Street Muppet, Harry Potter, and more recently Pikachu from the anime Pokemon!

Now, more about "Tommy february6"!  Kawase Tomoko began developing the character of february6 way before her debut. The february6 persona is known for her geeky looks, theme of cheerleaders, strange habits, her librarian-esque glasses, and her innocent personality (portrayed in her lyrics)!! The name itself was inspired by her birthday.

Here is a song from "Tommy february6":

                                                                       RUNAWAY

Now, about "Tommy heavenly6" which many of you that read my blog probably read an article about it before! Now, Tommy heavenly6 is meant to be the dark side and the alter-ego of Tommy february6. This one is released under "heavenly6". It is pop rock based and features Tommy as a more sophisticated and a classy person. Tommy heavenly6 is obessed with her image, and almost parodies modern culture in a way. Her persona loves reality shows, alcohol, and junk food.

That is also all what I have to say about Tommy heavenly6 so now I will show you guys a song from Tommy heavenly6:

                                                             CAN YOU HEAR ME?

And before I end this article, here is her in the alternative rock band "The Brilliant Green"!!

THE BRILLIANT GREEN - A LITTLE WORLD

Well, that is all I have to write about on Kawase Tomoko! Thank you guys for reading! I will make sure to post more and more! ^_^ Thank you! And don't forget to comment and follow and tweet @LivNLuvJP and email me at livnluvjapan@yahoo.com !! ^_^

Now, since you guys know a lot more about the main characters, I will tell you guys the main story or you can say plot. Soon, she was shocked that Akihito was immortal and a half-youmu. Soon, Akihito learns that Mirai Kuriyama is a Spirit World Warrior which is a person who protects humans from being affected by youmu. Mirai Kuriyama is also the last survivor of her spirit clan. Soon, Akihito learns the truth of why Mirai Kuriyama keeps stabbing him and trying to kill him and turns out because Akihito is immortal, she uses him for practice! (O.o);;;

That is all I am going to say about the anime "Beyond the Boundary". I don't want to give out too much that I might spoil it for you guys. Anime: Space Dandy

Hello everyone! Welcome to Liv N' Luv Japan! I want to talk more about anime, I have a obsession over anime that I can actually watch it for a full 24 hours consecutively like, seriously! xD

So, I want to talk about the anime "Space Dandy". I love this anime! It is full of all the genres I love! It is a Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, and Comedy!

I started watching Space Dandy on Toonami and Space Dandy is a really new anime but, it has been out for a couple of months now. The only reason why I am now watching Space Dandy is because one of my friends messaged me one day and we were talking about the different anime we liked and watched and wanted to watch. They asked me have I ever seen Space Dandy and I was like, I never even heard of it before. Soon, I realize that it was going to be a special premiere of Space Dandy and I decided to give it a try. I love watching Space Dandy so much now! I was even watching last night! ^_^ I am on Season 2~!

The anime was produced by 'Bones' and Space Dandy started this year of 2014. Space Dandy is basically an alien hunter who is "a dandy guy in space". Dandy also have two friends to assist him in his hunt for aliens. There is QT the robot and Meow the space cat! I was surprised when I founded out that Space Dandy premiere first in the US before Japan. It premiered in the US on January 4th, 2014 then in Japan on January 5th, 2014.

My favorite character is definitely Meow! I love Meow!! He is so funny and can be kinda sarcastic at times and I love his hat that he wears and he always seems to be on his phone that looks like their version of Twitter. He is very lazy and very carefree type of person. He spends his time playing video games and reading manga as well. He has a super large appetite and is a connoisseur of ramen!

Also I really love the opening theme song of Space Dandy! The opening theme is called "Viva Namida" and when you watch the video, you can really tell a lot about the anime and what will be going on in a way and you will see lots of the characters you will be recognizing as well. I love this opening theme that when I watch the anime at home, I will keep rewinding the DVR just to hear the opening over and over again!

That is really all I have to say about Space Dandy but, I highly recommend for all the people who love anime to actually give this anime "Space Dandy" a chance and I bet that the majority of you will love this anime and will become obsessed. Also, if you do watch Space Dandy and are reading this, comment below or tweet to @LivNLuvJP and let me know what you like most about the anime Space Dandy and/or who is your favorite character! Celebrities: Masaki Sato (佐藤優樹)

Hello everyone! Welcome to Liv N' Luv Japan! It's time to talk about Japanese celebrities!!! I want to talk about Masaki Sato from Morning Musume. She is my most favorite member from Morning Musume. I love her cuteness and there is something about her that I like that make her stand out from all of the other girls in the group~! ^_^

Name: 佐藤優樹 (Masaki Sato)

Birthday: May 7th, 1999 (currently 15 yrs old)

From: Hokkaido, Japan

Occupation: Singer

Association: Morning Musume, Harvest, Jurin, Sato no Akari, Hello!Project, Mobekimasu

Blood Type: A

Height: 153cm

Now, that was just some basic in general information about Masaki Sato. Now, I am going to talk more about her and about Morning Musume. First of all, Masaki Sato is part of the 10th generation of Morning Musume and she was one of the girls who were selected on September 29th, 2011. She has 2 younger sisters.

Masaki Sato is known to have a cheerful personality. She is the 6th Morning Musume member who is from Hokkaido. What is really shocking to me that she is the only 10th generation Morning Musume member who has not had past experience in the entertainment industry. So, when I think about that, that means this is her first time ever and all of a sudden she just audition and got in with no experience at all! She had always spoken English until she was 5 years old, when she started kindergarten, she had to start using Japanese.

That is how much I learned about Masaki Sato so far. By far when it comes to the 10th generation Morning Musume, she will always be my most favorite member! I hope that she will audition to be in future generations. She is really young, and we are the same age! Plus, I am a few months older than her which is something surprising that I have learned as well! I am positive that she will probably be in future generations because of the fact, it will be a while before she gets to a certain age to graduate from Morning Musume.

Now, who is your favorite 10th generation member?! ^_^ I would love to know your opinions about Masaki Sato and your favorite member!! ^_^ Please comment below!! And don't forget to tweet @LivNLuvJP !!
Thank you very much!! Arigatou gozaimasu!!

Keitai! Keitai! Keitai!

Hello everyone! Welcome to Liv N' Luv Japan! Today, I will talk about keitai! You may not have heard of it but you have probably seen it many times in anime, manga, j-drama, etc. They are the smartphones in Japan that looks like flip phones! And today, they are still very popular in Japan and works as well as any new mobile smartphone.

The number of mobile phone contracts are more than 127 million, more than 80% of Japan's population (pop.: 128 million) owning one or more mobile phones! Might as well say the everyone in Japan have a cell phone! ^_^

Starting in 1999 in Japan, Japanese manufacturers integrated email and internet capabilities for mobile phones. This makes Japan the first country in the world to introduced internet service to mobile phones! So, when I think of it, because of Japan, we are able to have the idea of having internet on our phones! Thank you Japan!! For you guys who don't know, keitai literally means "mobile" in Japanese, and the Japanese use keitai phones to communicate by email than actual phone conversations like calling. In Japan, striking up a friendship with people you meet and start getting along with, you'll eventually start exchanging emails because it's the most popular way to communicate now in Japan.

In Japan, it's the norm to see people standing in street corners or on a train or subway seeing people stare at their phones for a long period of time, and most of the time it's mostly because they spend lots of their time communicating by email. Mobile phones and having an email to exchange with people is an essential part of having and creating friendships in Japan.

For junior high schools students, approximately 50% of them and more than 90% of high school students have a mobile phone! Because of the popularity of  mobile phones in Japan, the Japanese has fostered the country's unique and exotic culture of pictographs. We know them as either emoticons and/or emojis. It's used mostly by women and people use them to express their emotions in a fun way!

In my opinion, I love emojis! Usually if people would message me or either text me or even if I am posting most of the time on my social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. you will never see a something I wrote without some emojis! Emojis are my obsession and I honestly I enjoy talking to people who also use emojis often because it makes their messages fun to read and make it interesting. ^_^

Also because of the major popularity of the Japanese keitai mobile phones, their is a new literary genre in Japan called the "mobile phone novels". Which is was weird when I first heard about this a year or two ago because I was like, "A movie or a book based on phones?". But, then when I actually thought about it, I sounded it might be good to see what they will do about to see if it is actually a good genre because this is the only genre I heard of that didn't make sense to me at first until I watched a Japanese movie called "Koizora" (translation: Love Sky). The movie had over 12 million hits! It generated an unbelievable popularity, mostly upon young women. Unlike a conventional e-book, the novel started out as digital format and later a published book. The novel sold over 2 million and became a best seller. (Also for you guys who don't know, I have actually seen the movie and I have done a review on Koizora which is on my blog so if you're interested, check it out!)

Well, that's all the information I can put into thought about the keitai mobile phones. I hope you guys enjoyed the article! Now, my opinion about the keitai.....I WANT ONE! What really makes me want one are actually the little decorations you can add to your keitai and I find them to look so kawaii and it just influences me to get one! Let me know your opinions about the keitai by commenting! Thank you guys so much! Arigatou gozaimasu!
